Nexus 5 ship time slips to 3 to 4 weeks

Only the 32GB white model still shows an estimated ship date of 2 to 3 weeks

Looking to buy the new Nexus 5? You may now have to wait up to a month, at least if you want the unlocked version through Google Play.

The 16GB and 32GB black version and the 16GB white version available unlocked from Google all now show a ship time of 3 to 4 weeks as of Monday morning. Consumers who'd be happy with the 32GB white model face a wait of 2 to 3 weeks.

And these shipping estimates could certainly fluctuate.
Google officially unveiled the new Nexus 5 on October 31. Around an hour after the launch, the Google Play Store was already showing certain models as "out of inventory." An hour or so later, all four flavors were back in stock with estimated ship dates of November 8.

Google is selling the unlocked 16GB Nexus 5 for $349 and the 32GB edition for $399. Buyers can get a locked version at a cheaper price through the usual two-year agreement with a carrier.
So far, only Sprint and T-Mobile have announced plans to offer the Nexus 5. AT&T hasn't revealed any intention to carry the phone, but Google has confirmed that the Nexus 5 can connect to AT&T's network. Verizon said it will not sell the phone.

Sprint is currently offering the 16GB Nexus 5 for preorder at a price as low as $49 with a two-year agreement. That price includes a $50 rebate and a $100 savings if you bring an existing phone number to a new Sprint account. The carrier promises "we'll do our best to get it to you by Friday, November 8" if you order it today.

Best Buy also has the 16GB Nexus 5 up for preorder at a price of $149 through Sprint for new and existing subscribers.

T-Mobile has yet to announce pricing or preorders of the new phone but has promised to start sales "in the coming weeks."
