Consumers can cut the cost of the Kindle Fire HD tablet to $118 from $139, the Kindle Fire HDX 7 tablet to $195 from $229, and the Kindle e-reader to $59 from $69 from by entering the promo code "ThnksFAA" at checkout. But you'll have to hurry. The deal is good only for Monday, November 4.
The retail giant unveiled the discount today as a thank you to the Federal Aviation Administration for now allowing electronic device use during an entire flight.
"We've been fighting for our customers on this issue for years, and we are thrilled by the FAA's recent decision -- this is a big win for customers," Amazon vice president Drew Herdener said in a statement. "Delta and JetBlue have already started flights with the new rules -- we're excited to see which airlines are next."
